I have wanted to go to Brazil for a long time as I had heard so many amazing things about it. Last year I was all booked and ready to go!
Unfortunately, I got half way there then my next flight to Fortaleza was canceled due to technical problems! I was devastated they couldn’t put me on another flight to Brazil. I was left stranded and had to pay a small fortune to get back to the UK!
This year I really wanted to give it another chance to get there. I was fired up and ready to go, but there was still a part of me that was feeling quite nervous after my last attempt. I wouldn’t say my nerves where exactly eased on my journey this time either! It was a crazy journey.
One poor guy on the plane had a heart attack and passed away! We had to do a pit stop landing in Casa Blanca for 5 hours. I met some other riders on the plane though so they kept me company for a bit. I was so happy when we finally arrived in Fortaleza, Brazil!
Gigi from Pro Kite Brasil kindly picked me up and we headed to Uruau, which is about a hour’s drive from the airport. The spot at Pro Kite Brazil looked insane! Windy and a big butter flat empty lagoons all for me - and I woke up just 5 steps away from this all!
I felt like I needed to wake up as it did not feel real. I had some awesome sessions!! The nightlife was almost non-existent there so everyone was in bed asleep by 9:30pm!!! But I didn’t mind this as I could just really focus on my kiting for my 2-week stay.
On my 5th day in Brazil I started filming with Andre Magarao from Rio. I had a great time filming with him for a week. My time in Brazil quickly came to an end! I had such a brilliant time!
