Praia Nova Vaga

DAY 16
The Rabbit Gang got up around 9 am after a great sleep and cleaned up both campers as Mark and Kamil packed their bags to catch a flight back to the EU HQ in Poland. Mike is now the main man leading the tour for Wainman as the guys huddled around to hear the new plan of action and sleeping arrangements for the camper vans. The changing of the guard took a few hours but eventually we left Guincho town with 2 new gangsters, Rob and Winky. Also Swiss Charlie for the second year is also joining the caravan in his own ride that he drove all the way from Switzerland. We were on the road for an hour to Praia Nova Vaga another Portugese local beach spot filled for miles with beach-goers and kiters with parked cars leading to the beaches for miles and miles. The wind was on the light side in comparison to the Guincho 40 knot blast session the day earlier. Luckily Pedro our Rabbit rep here kept us laughing and was getting people to test ride the 12 meter Bosses and 9 meter Smokes. Giome weighing not so much took out the Big Mama and showed some big airs on a 15 meter that can kiteloop like an 8 meter. The locals were trying all the demo blunts and surfs were quickly snagged up by the tour riders and friends we quickly made in our half day appearance at this beautiful beach.

After another well co-oridinated pack-up drill of all the gear we luckily made friends with a local fisherman and got to watch the final world cup match on his flatscreen he had outside his giant BMW 1940's something RV parked right at the entrance to the beach access. Luckily this week on our way to Spain there will still be people partying and not in a bad mood after that win. Niccolo earlier was doing some paragliding type stunts with the Big Mama and needed a shower worse than any of us so we found a campsite on the way out of town so he could sleep well on the road to Carpeiretera our next destination that requires us to drive all through the night once again. After only about an hour on the road Franz was so tired from the long day of kiting he was seeing stars and maybe a few gremlins on the hood of the van so we quickly called it a night and pulled into a gas station to rest up for an early start tommorrow.
