DAY 14
Driving, Driving, Driving all night and day. Spain is beautiful, lots of ranchos and haciendas and country views. Difficulty seeing at night, very strong winds, storms and rains made the whole trip even longer as our RV's very tired in those hard conditions, same as the whole crew.
Each of us took turns through the night driving and sleeping and filling up gas tanks until everybody was up and we headed to yet another rest-stop for breakfast.
Finally after 18 hours, we came to Guincho, the famous surf spot of Europe and after chasing our tails to find parking spots we rushed out to kite.
Swiss Charlie was already there after leaving France early and driving solo and we watched as he rode the 9 meter smoke in some pretty strong wind, proving top end abilities of Rabbits. Though at 30 knots he came in to switch to the gypsy and this was the weapon for the day. after Lou and Franz bought wet-suits in the nearby shop all the guys grabbed Gypsy's too and all the new surfboards, as well Blunts to try them out in challenging conditions (tests came out great) and we had a killer little session or two before heading to dinner.
We arrived in this small restaurant and after 10 minutes of re-arranging tables to accommodate the huge group that we are we all sat and devoured the bread like hungry wolves tearing at a baby calf.
Next Mike Husky the Wainman Hawaii head chief walked in the door with Lou's other birthday present (HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOU !!!) a 6.5 Gypsy from last year and we all gave him a warm welcome to the mayhem. After we ate all the food and drank all the booze in the place we headed to the house we are renting and finally everybody got internet and a shower before a well deserved nights sleep in a bed that stood still longer than an indy car pit stop.
P.S. Sorry there are no photos from this day, but our lead photographer Shaddix got really into the celebration of Lou's birthday and partied a little too hard (if you know what I mean)...
