DAY 18
We woke up just in time to catch the breakfast at Hotel Zodiaco. In the Portugese style things happen very fast and the kitchen was closing 5 minutes ago. Once we refilled our batteries a bit we quickly headed to the little dock to catch the boat. Once on the beautiful spot we setup the demo gear for the locals to try in perfect side offshore steady wind ideal for the 9 meter smokes. Riders did a photo session with Shaddix our still camera man and Ben our video maker, to catch the beauty of the new Blunt boards and show them soon to You.

The spot is a lot of fun with tons of space and is similar to Hatteras with inlets and areas of dead flat water, perfect for learning new tricks and floaty jumps over the sand back into the water. Niccolo was at it again doing huge airs and hand-plant re-entries as Bertrand did powered handlepass moves just inches from the shore. After a full day in the sun and watching each rider bust out some new moves we waved down the boat captain to take us back to the dock but needed 2 trips as we had tons of gear and lots of people to transport. On the second trip with the boat loaded up pretty full we had to get some other riders as well who were somehow lost in the dunes, so in the end our boat was super full with a top speed of like 5 knots. With the warm breeze and nice sun set this wasn't any problem.

Once back to the hotel Zodiaco we dropped off the big campers and a dozen of us packed into Daniels 4x4 truck to head to Piri Piri, a local restaurant famous for seafood and endless dishes of calamari, fish and juicy steaks with fries until you can eat no more.

The after dinner espresso was so good we had to claim it as number one so far bumping the Lake Garda in Italy version into second place. In America the water-downed giant Venti cup of coffee can't compare to the jolt a tiny shot of European coffee tastes like or the effect. The cost in Portugal is only about 50 cents compared to 5 bucks, as well. It's these little differences that make traveling open your eyes a bit as well as appreciate the subtle differences each continent offers. After a great day of riding we headed back to the hotel to catch some z's before an early rise to hit the road south to Tarifa our next destination.
