Fehmarn, GERMANY

Good things have just begun - Rabbit Gang Tour report by Franz Olry and Niccolo Porcella.

June 13th (Niccolo Porcella)
The last day to set all your stuff ready for the big euro trip, that’s were the adrenaline starts.
I stored my car and other stuff for the 3,5 months that I am gone to my friend Billy, paid my bills and I am leaving Maui.
4 airports: Kahalui, Los Angeles, London and finally 2 days “later” I am in Berlin, happy to arrive in the old world. I sleep in the hotel “de France”, an old French library converted into a hotel and cultural center, which is pretty cool and funny with its little copy of Eiffel tour in the front.

June 16th (Niccolo Porcella)
After “jetlag” sleep I meet with Franz Olry and Ben, our camera guy. They are the best smiling partners you could want.
After a good lunch and a visit in a historical center with Frank, Wainman Hawaii dealer in Berlin and our guide in this amazing city, finally at 1am at night Mark and Kamil arrive with our “mobile home” for the next 45 days.
The camper is rad – just like a rabbit hole :). It’s so funny, we are 5 persons with like 15 kites, 15 boards and all other stuff in this camping car and we are gonna live for 6 weeks all packed together, ahaha.
Actually already just after few minutes of driving, while celebrating the meeting with few beers, one of the suitcase fell down from the top on Mark’s head and spilled half of the beer around. Good start and we already imagine the mess after 2 or 3 weeks - this little home will smell like an old dirty sock mix with wet dogs and old cheese. Hahaha.
But for sure we gonna have lot of fun.

June 17th (Rabbits)
The first stop that we are heading to is Fehmarn in north Germany.
Despite having the newest GPS map, we still managed to get lost a bit on German 3-4 lines highways but finally we arrived in the small village with 50 regular citizens but visited on windy summer days by few hundreds of kiters.
The local kite spot is known for almost perfectly flat, deep waist water, great for beginners as well pros looking for “laboratory” conditions for perfecting their tricks or boosting big air in front of the crowds of sailors or regular tourists.
Unfortunately (or fortunately for us still tired with all traveling) there was no wind - perfect conditions to recover from all flights and get familiar with our new toys, some of which came straight from factory production line: new Boss and Smoke, new bars, bags, etc. Despite very light total wind we also played a bit with new members of the Rabbit family: 15m Big Mama and 5m Bunny. Like all others they are beautiful, different from all others, they are the rabbits. Hahaha.
We finished this slow, peaceful day, with a nice barbecue offered by our locals – Windgeister Kite Shop team. Thanks for the great food and beer.

Full and happy Rabbit Gang is ready for the next 45 days of traveling around the whole Europe and spreading Wainman Hawaii stoke all over.
Stay in touch and follow Rabbit route.
